Friends of Stanley Park monthly meeting
The next monthly meeting is the AGM and will take place on Saturday 20th April 2024 at 2pm in the Visitor Centre.
The Guest Speaker is
Paul Hodgson, Manager of Green and Open Spaces for Blackpool Council, who will unveil the strategy for Stanley Park.
A nomination form for the election of the Executive Committee will be circulated to members. If you would like to apply for any of the positions please ensure you complete the form and return it to Liz Marshall by 12 noon on Friday 12th April 2024. Tea and Coffee will be available from 1pm.

The next flower arranging workshop, the rose arch, is on Saturday 27th April at 12.30pm at the Visitor Centre. All materials provided, cost is £29.99,payable in cash on the day.

The Friends of Stanley Park hold their book club meeting on the 4th Thursday of each month. The next meeting is on Thursday 25th April at 2.30pm for a 3pm start in the Stanley Park Visitor Centre next to the cafe.

Creative Hub Exhibition at Stanley Park Visitor Centre
New exhibition coming this week from our creative hub photographers.
Artists and photographers meet every other Sunday to create and share ideas and this is their first exhibition, a stunning display of a variety of subjects.
Next meet up of the Creative Hub is Sunday 10th March from 10 am.

Carol Concert - £700 wow!
A huge thank you to all those of you who were able to attend the Carol Concert at
the Bandstand last Sunday and a special thank you to all the volunteers who helped
in any way. We collected the magnificent sum of £700.00 for Blackpool Victoria
Blue Skies Hospital Fund. Thank you all so much.
On behalf of myself and the Committee may we wish you all a very Merry Christmas
and a Healthy Happy and Prosperous New Year. We look forward to seeing you in

The Christmas Fair raised £2100. A big thankyou to all who helped and contributed. The funds will be used for the park.

Blackpool in Bloom Winners 2023
Stanley Park Rose Garden wins the Blackpool in Bloom 2023 Best Community Gardens Award.
Congratulations to our Gardening Club volunteers, who focus on this and the Garden of Remembrance, and the Park Gardeners for their work.
Friends of Stanley Park 21st Birthday Party

An excellent afternoon was had at the Stanley Park Visitor Centre. The Friends of Stanley Park, Blackpool, were formed 21 years ago, July 2002.
CCTV Cameras now operating 11th July 2023
CCTV cameras are now fully operational in Stanley Park and are being monitored. Please spread the word that the cameras are now working and make sure your dog is on a lead where indicated by signs in the Park. Dog Wardens are empowered to take appropriate action especially for attacks on wildlife.

Garden Party for those attaining the Queens Award for Voluntary Service 2022
Nigel Patterson, Chair of the Friends of Stanley Park, and Carole Thaw, Events Officer, of the Friends of Stanley Park, and Lynne Patterson attended a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on the 9th May 2023.
The Garden Party was hosted, on behalf of The King, by The Prince of Wales. His Royal Highness was joined by The Princess of Wales, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. Altogether 8,000 guests attended the party in recognition of their public service and charity or community work.
